PrinterReviews was founded in 2019 with a single aim: to provide honest, technically rigorous printer reviews that help consumers make informed purchasing decisions. The printer market is crowded with sponsored content, manufacturer-supplied review units, and affiliate-driven "best of" lists that prioritize high-commission products over genuine quality. We believe readers deserve better.
Every printer on this site was purchased at full retail price by our editorial team. We accept no review units, no manufacturer sponsorships, and no paid editorial placements. When we recommend a product, it is because we believe it is genuinely the best choice for our readers — full stop.
How We Test
Our testing process is standardized across every printer we review. Each unit is evaluated over a minimum four-week period by at least one senior reviewer. Testing includes standardized document print quality assessments (ISO/IEC 24712 test pages), real-world speed measurement with a variety of document types, photo print quality evaluation against calibrated monitor reference, wireless connectivity stability testing, and long-term reliability observation.
Scores are assigned on a 10-point scale across five categories: Print Quality, Speed, Running Costs, Connectivity, and Build Quality. The overall score is a weighted composite, with Print Quality and Running Costs weighted most heavily for consumer printers.

Our Office
PrinterReviews operates from our editorial office and testing lab in Chicago, Illinois. Our lab contains dedicated testing stations for up to twelve printers simultaneously, including controlled-lighting photography stations and calibrated display reference for print quality comparison.

PrinterReviews generates revenue through affiliate marketing commissions. When you click certain links on this site and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. These commissions help fund our printer purchases and pay our editorial team.
Crucially, affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial decisions. We review every printer on its merits, and we regularly recommend products through retailers where we have no affiliate relationship, or no affiliate program exists.
